So I totally planned on doing a full recap of the Lucky FABB experience but being my procrastinator self I am still in the process of putting that post together. In the meantime, I thought I’d share my intense addiction to watching HGTV.
Now, I want to preface this by saying that I didn’t always watch HGTV. Hell a few years ago I didn’t even know what it was (actually not sure how long it’s been around) but I’m pretty sure my college self did not enjoy watching home decorating shows and makeover reveals.
Fast forward to my late 20s, married self and HGTV and I are a match made in heaven. My love for the channel is deep. It’s getting to the point where I see episodes of Property Brothers or Cousins on Call or of course House Hunters and realize I’ve already seen the episode. Eesh don’t know if it gets more embarrassing than that. Apparently not everyone shares in my sentiment for the channel, but I’m still a fan (though I do agree they could diversify the programming a bit, but then again I’d probably watch it even more!)
On a typical weeknight (shh sometimes even weekend night) I curl up on the couch and tune in to see where people are moving or what their renovated house looks like. I can’t help it, it’s addicting. Unfortunately, my wonderful husband does not share my obsession with all things home decor-related. You can usually find him passed out on the couch next to me while I’m trying to guess which house will get picked on House Hunters or whether the family will Love It or List It (side note my success rate of predicting this is alarming or impressive depending on how you look at it.)
But regardless, that won’t stop my love for the channel or my secret desire to one day be featured on one of the shows (ahem Cousins on Call I’m looking at you!) Please tell me I’m not the only one out there suffering this same obsession??

April 10, 2013 at 5:54 amOh you are not alone! That is the channel that is on the most in our house. It started because it was the compromise channel when we would fight between Bravo and ESPN haha. Then we became obsessed. to the point where we started looking at houses for fun, and then ended up buying one. But two years later we still watch for inspiration! It never gets old.

April 10, 2013 at 5:53 pmI sadly don't share your passion for this channel but I love me some Bravo lol. Addicted to all the trash they show on that channel. Your addiction could possible be more productive. I mean at least you might learn to a DIY project or two, not sure how productive my watching of beverly hills housewives can be.

April 10, 2013 at 9:26 pmI have been resisting Bravo only because I already feel like I watch way too much TV already lol but everyone is allowed their guilty pleasures, it makes life more fun!

April 11, 2013 at 3:50 pmIt is our compromise channel, too, between those exact same channels! My husband cannot stand Bravo, so with one TV, I have to sneak in my housewives before he gets home from work. I genuinely do love looking inside other people's houses though (perhaps I'm nosy), so I enjoy it. Sometimes we branch out to Food Network and Cooking Channel, too.
