do this: visit the rain room exhibit at moma

I’m heading to New York next week and I absolutely can’t wait. In addition to spending time with family and friends, I’m crossing my fingers I’ll be able to see this amazing exhibit at New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMa.)

The Rain Room is designed to make you feel like you’re walking through the rain, except you never get wet. The water stops wherever a human body is detected allowing visitors to experience what it feels like to “control” the rain. Designed by England’s Random International, the trick lies in 3D camera sensors that turn off water whenever it detects movement.

It looks and sounds so awesome, I would love to see it for myself. Problem is, admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Crossing my fingers I get a chance to go! (The last day of the exhibit is July 28th.) Till then, I’ll be checking out these cool photos to tide me over.

We had to wait about 3.5 hours, but it was definitely worth it! The earlier you get there, the shorter the wait. Average wait seems to be 4-5 hours. :O Also, if you go with someone who has a MoMa membership it gets you in faster and it will be cheaper. Good luck!
