My obsession with Beyoncé is no secret. I’ve been a fan since her Destiny’s Child days but definitely stepped up my game when she went solo. Though I’ve always loved her music, my true fan-dom wasn’t solidified until I went to see her in concert recently. It.was.amazing. Truly an experience I’ll never forget.
I haven’t been to very many concerts but this one was hands down the best one I’d ever attended. Not only did she kill it singing live (and dancing like crazy) you could feel the passion in her voice during every song. I know this sounds cheesy but I felt as if she was singing right to me amid a crowd of thousands. (Hey I did say I’m a fan right?!) Even those not expecting to like her show have come away in awe, so clearly I’m not the only one drinking the Beyoncé Kool-aid.
My devotion to Queen B runs so deep that I even flew across the country to see her show. Call me crazy, but it was either dragging my husband along or cashing in my Southwest rewards for a free flight and enjoying B with my closest girlfriends. Heck yes I chose option two!
We saw the concert in Atlantic City, NJ and made it a weekend getaway. In fact, we were having so much fun that getting to the concert took a bit longer than expected. But luckily we made it right on time. Right as we were walking in, Beyoncé entered the stage. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Her show was non-stop energy from start to finish. My friends and I danced and sang along for nearly two hours and before we knew it, our Mrs. Carter experience was over.
This is one show that I could go see again and again. Not only did she put on an absolutely amazing performance, she truly connected with the audience. She ended the show by thanking us for letting her do what she loves with tears in her eyes. Her devotion to her craft is powerful to watch and it’s nice to know that there are still artists out there that appreciate their fans on such a level. Right back at ya B, no surprise you are adored by millions, myself proudly included.
