Beauty Product Favorites

Last year, I shared my daily beauty routine. Well, more than a year later my beauty and skincare favorites seem to have taken a complete 180. In my ongoing quest to incorporate more natural products into my beauty routine, I’ve started using a variety of different items that I’m extremely happy with (and yes I do heavily favor Josie Maran, what can I say girlfriend has some good stuff!) Though I’m definitely not 100 percent there when it comes to using only natural products, I’m doing my best to blend some old favorites with new ones. The products that I’m using on rotation are listed below:

• Josie Maran Argan Oil Daily Moisturizer

  I love many Josie Maran products but the moisturizer, which I previously wrote about is my favorite. It's quite simply the bomb dot com. It's extremely hydrating and I feel good knowing that I'm protecting my skin from the sun, so do yourself a favor and check it out!

• Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil

  The argan oil is actually how I originally discovered Josie Maran's line. It's truly multipurpose and worth every penny because I use it everywhere, face, body, nails and even on my hair. Great lightweight moisture that gives you a nice glow.

• Josie Maran GoGo Instant Volume Mascara

  The mascara isn't too thick and gives me a real natural look, but a few more coats is all I need for a more dramatic finish. The best part: it doesn't clump at all (saving you from the dreaded spider lashes.)

• Josie Maran Argan Creamy Concealer Crayon

  The concealer stick is another fave product of mine, it blends well with a smooth finish and the color matches well. It's also great for touchups on the go.

• BareMinerals BareSkin Brightening Serum Foundation

  Since I've been using the bareMinerals powder foundation for years I thought I'd switch over to their new serum foundation. It's only been a few weeks but overall, I like the practicality of a liquid solution (vs powder which could get messy.) During the summer, I wear less makeup so I just add a light layer over my concealer to even out my skin.

• Flower Glisten Up Highlighter Chubby

  I received this in my Lucky Fabb swag bag a few months ago and I love it! It's from Drew Barrymore's makeup line and it's great to throw in your purse when you need some extra color, I use the shade "Gold Coaster".

• AM/PM Hydroxatone Anti-Wrinkle Complex

  Since I'm not getting any younger I figured I'd get started on the whole anti-aging part of my beauty routine already. This cream also came in the Lucky Fabb gift bag and though I know it's not exactly natural, I have noticed that my skin looks smoother, more even-toned and my fine lines are less apparent.

• Eau Thermale Avene Eye Contour Care

  This eye cream also came in my Lucky Fabb gift bag and I'm so glad it did. I've been using it for several months now and call me crazy but I swear the fine lines around my eyes are a bit smoother and my dark circles aren't as pronounced. Definitely planning on continuing to use this and seeing how my skin reacts in the long run.

• Lavanila The Natural Deodorant

  I've been using natural deodorant for more than a year. Until recently, I was using Tom's of Maine but I started noticing that my underarms were extremely dry. I started looking for a new deodorant and picked up Lavanila. So far I absolutely love it. It smells incredible and really provides the protection I need to not look/feel sweaty.

The four products I use the most from Josie Maran’s line are the argan daily moisturizer, pure argan oil, mascara and the concealer crayon. I love the company’s whole approach to using organic argan oil as a main ingredient and being more aware about what we’re putting on our faces and bodies. I’ve tried many of her products and overall enjoy them all. The only downside is that they’re a tad pricey, but the older I get the more willing I am to pay more for good quality.

Now aside from Josie Maran, I swear I use other products. I’ve been using bareMinerals for a few years and recently made the switch to their new skin brightening serum foundation. It’s got an interesting applicator brush, a very light, liquid foundation and is described as being able to brighten skin. Overall, I like the foundation and definitely prefer the liquid vs. the old powder form. It’s got good coverage but still lets your skin shine through without that cake-y feel.

After attending the Lucky Fabb Conference back in April, I was introduced to several new cosmetic companies thanks to the goodies in the gift bag. That’s where I discovered the Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex and Eau Thermale Eluage Eye Contour Care. I’ve really enjoyed both of these products and definitely see a difference in my skin. I’m planning on keeping up with the wrinkle-fighting regimen as a part of my beauty routine, because I figure the earlier the better! The Flower Glisten Up Highlighter Chubby was also in the gift bag and I’ve loved adding a touch of light bronzer to my skin this summer. It’s just enough to give me that sought-after summer glow.

So there you have it folks, my current beauty favorites. There are definitely a few staples in there that I plan on keeping around for the long haul but like many of you, as I get older I’m constantly tinkering around trying to find the right products that work well for me.
