Are you on the hunt for a smaller size stroller for your little one? You’ve come to the right place! If you happen to be considering the Colugo stroller then read on for my review. (Spoiler alert: it’s awesome!) I’m totally one of those people that depends on online reviews when I purchase things but I realized I hardly every leave them myself. Eek. In the hopes of turning that around, I’ve been trying to share my thoughts about products more often in the hopes that they can help someone out during those late night browsing sessions. Read on to find out why the Colugo stroller is one of my new favorites:
So what is the Colugo stroller?
It’s a compact stroller that checks off all the boxes for me, it’s functional, it’s stylish and it’s small (16 pounds and 17” x 24” x 10” when folded)! I travel with my kids quite a bit and this stroller totally fits the bill of a great travel stroller (and much more.) They kindly sent over the stroller for me to test out (with no obligation to review it) but I loved it so much I wanted to share my experiences in case you’re in the market for a new stroller. I’ve owned (or currently own) 4 different strollers (Baby Jogger, BabyZen and GB Qbit) and aside from the Baby Jogger, they all fall into the compact stroller category that Colugo is in. This one is just about at the top of my list. Here’s why.
Ease of use
The one-hand fold is by far my favorite feature. With two kids to keep track of, I really enjoy the fact that I can simply fling it open and closed without a second thought. The carry strap makes it easy to hold my daughter while also juggling the stroller. In comparison to the BabyZen YoYo 2-step fold, this one is much, much easier!
The comfort and look
I’m generally a sucker for an all black stroller but something about this fun print just spoke to me. (They’ve since released a cheetah print that I’m obsessing over!) The comfort layer insert is not only beautiful to look at, it really is very plush and comfortable for your little one. And it’s machine washable! All moms know just how gross the stroller gets so this feature was a huge plus for me! The recline is quite deep and the first time we took it out for a spin my daughter fell asleep! She is not a good napper on the go at all and I was pleasantly surprised that this comfortable stroller seemed to do the trick. I also appreciated that the seat portion was nice and deep and long enough for her legs to rest on. I really felt she can stretch her legs and relax in it. This is definitely not a feature I’ve found in other compact strollers.
Risk-free trial
My biggest gripe with buying strollers is that typically you won’t know if you like it until you actually use it. But if you purchase a stroller from a traditional retailer and start using it, then your options to return are very limited. Not so with the Colugo. You’ve got 100 days to decide whether or not you like it. If you decide it’s not for you, you can simply ship it back to them within those 100 days, risk-free (they even cover shipping ya’ll!) This makes things so much easier! No more stressing before deciding whether or not to buy. You’ll never know until you try and 100 days is plenty of time to test the stroller out in different settings and decide if it’s the right fit for you.
All the extras
Most stroller companies charge you for every little accessory. Not the case with Colugo. Included in the price of the stroller ($285) is the stroller with insert, rain cover and a carry backpack (all for the price of $285!) It’s actually kind of crazy how much you get simply when you purchase the stroller. For another deal, check out their Perfect bundle ($335). In addition to the stroller, carry backpack and rain cover, you’ll receive an additional insert and a backpack diaper bag. You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck that’s for sure.
Overall thoughts
This is a fantastic stroller. It can definitely be used as a travel stroller but honestly is strong enough to be a normal day-to-day stroller as well. I appreciate that it’s a parent-founded company because so many pain points I’ve had on strollers in the past were addressed here. They’ve really thought through the design and functionality so well and make it comfortable for both parent and child. I would say my only negative is that it can accommodate only one child. If there was an option to add a ride along board or something of that nature for an older child then this stroller would be pretty darn perfect. That said however, it’s a great stroller for what it’s designed to do so really any changes would be icing on the cake.
P.S. They also make some pretty great baby carriers 🙂
Thank you again Colugo for gifting me this wonderful stroller. All thoughts and opinion are my own.
